Registration opens on International Epilepsy Awareness Day, 12pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
Hosted by EFSDC each Spring, Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk. is our annual outdoor community event that brings our community together to get active, educate, spread awareness and make a difference for the people we love who live with epilepsy. These nationwide events are dedicated to the memory of Sharon Rosenfeld, a nurse and teacher who cared deeply about epilepsy and advocated for helmet safety.Â
Thank you to everyone who rode, ran, walked and fundraised with us for epilepsy in 2025!
When the average cost of care for a person living with epilepsy in the U.S. can be as high as $20,000/year, each person who participated and fundraised for Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk. helps us continue to offer monthly support groups, school nurse trainings, seizure first aid trainings, neurologist referrals and more at no cost to families and individuals in San Diego impacted by epilepsy.
“We are grateful. We are grateful for our family, our friends and our faith which have all helped us on this journey,” shared Kathryn Sievert, EFSDC community member, parent of a child with epilepsy and captain of Team Micah, a group that has consistently participated in Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk. in San Diego. “Some days have been better than others. Some days Micah still has seizures. But we walk. We walk for awareness and education. We walk because we will always fight. We will always make sure he knows he is more than his diagnosis. He is our superhero!”
We’re very close to hitting our $70,000 fundraising goal for Sharon’s Ride.Run.Walk. Please consider donating today!
