Camp Coelho Info and Application
Camp Coelho, in Yosemite Ridge at Camp Wawona, is nestled at the Wawona Dome by the Merced River. This camp is open to all children who are residents of California. Campers must be between the ages of 13-15 and confirmed by a physician, as having a primary diagnosis of epilepsy. Campers must be on some form of anti-seizure therapy during camp. Children will be considered for admission after completion of the camp application and a telephone interview with the child's teacher.
Staff from the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California and the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County will attend for the duration of camp. In addition, epileptologists and nurses will be on site throughout the week! Camp Coelho counselors are selected for their experience and enthusiasm for working with children and teens. All counselors receive special training in seizure recognition and first aid. Plus there is 1 counselor for every 2 campers! The goals of Camp Coelho are to provide a safe, enjoyable camping experience, build self-esteem by promoting self-confidence, competency, and social interaction, and to foster independence in a safe environment away from home. Activities include: Archery, Arts and Crafts, Camp Fires, Horseback Riding, Ropes Course, Swimming, and Team Sports.

Summer Camp For Children with Epilepsy & Seizure Disorders
Ages 8 to 12
Camp Quest Info and Application
Camp Quest is designed to offer the excitement and challenge of summer camp to children with epilepsy, providing a safe and medically supervised setting which gives parents the confidence to send their children without worry. Camp Quest is a six day, five night resident camp experience at YMCA Camp Marston. An American Camping Association accredited camp, Camp Marston is nestled in the high mountain district of Julian. The children are integrated into the regular YMCA camping program and participate in all the camp activities, led by YMCA staff. The Epilepsy Foundation provides a registered nurse and volunteers to oversee the medical needs of our campers with epilepsy. Campers must be able to handle their own basic needs, function at an independent level and participate in regular camp activities. One-on-one supervision is not available. Registration fee: $25. Camp costs are funded by Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego donors. Children from San Diego and Imperial Counties in Southern California have priority. Out-of-area applicants will be placed on a waiting list; they will be notified after June 1st if space is still available. Since we have openings for only 15 children applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. For further information or an application, contact: 619-296-0161
