Cyclist George Thomas is competing in RACE ACROSS AMERICA (RAAM), one of the world’s toughest cycling competitions, and he’s racing to make a difference!
Join thousands of Americans across the USA in this unique opportunity to be part of a thrilling world-class cycling competition. George Thomas is an inspiration to the more than 2.5 million people in the USA who suffer from seizure disorders. From a near-death experience after being hit by a drunk driver and crashing headfirst through a cars windshield, to developing epilepsy as a result of the accident, George not only learned how to walk again, now he jumps on his bike and races as a world-class athlete. He is the only person in the 20-year history of RAAM to have completed solo, tandem, and relay divisions.
Each person who donates $10 will sponsor a particular mile in this exciting cross-country race (e.g., 614 MILES - Twin Falls, Idaho - Donor Name, City). As a mile sponsor you will be recognized on the Web site, sent e-mail updates of George’s progress in the race (including photos), and notified by e-mail when George races past your mile. You will also be able to send personal e-mail messages to George and his tandem partner, Terri, which will be read over a loudspeaker to inspire them during the race. Special recognition will be given to “Super Mile” sponsors ($25+) and “Century Mile” sponsors ($100+).
